I am still trying to figure out the right dosage for me. I have a presentation on Wednesday that I am extremely anxious for and my doctor prescribed .25 mg which is NOT working. I have since tried doing 1 mg/day...but this is not working either. Just wondered what your normal dosage is. I have a serious problem with social anxiety and am taking 10 mg of lexapro a day as well. thanks.

you probably need the medication changing if its not workingthere are loads of different meds out therego back to your doc or psychiatrist&get the med changed

You are sayin that you felt no effect from either 0.25 mg or 1 mg Xanax? Did you feel anxious when you took these doses? I suspect that either you are tolerant to the drug or that there was no anxiety to begin with. A dose of 1 mg Xanax should have had an effect unless you are tolerant to the drug. A higher dose may work but you run the risk of being over-medicated and if you are used to taking this medication regularly, you also run the risk of withdrawals if you stop abruptly.
