Default Long term Vicodin addiction? - 12-27-2008, 03:37 PM

I used to be a very heavy Vicodin user, in one three day stretch I took 120 pills. I eventually got clean and have been so for over a year and a half. Overall it has gotten easier, however, for the past month or so I've been in constant and extreme pain in my lower back. I've been under a lot of stress since the pain started and I'm almost certain the pain is psychological, but I didn't think I would still get pains like that this far out. Has anyone else had experience with this kind of thing?

Could be flashbacks? Is there a NA support group in your area, why don't you go to a meeting and share your story! Maybe you'll get some positive feedback! Good Luck!

I suffer from Migraines and back pain. Used to take pain pills all the time to relieve the pain. Although I have to say, Not as much. Since May I have been getting Acupuncture. I started out going 5 days in a row. Then 3 days the next week. By then I was amazed at how the migraines and back pain started to go away. Throughout the summer I went about Once a Week. Now I just go when I have a migraine. It might help you.Don't worry bout the needles. They are really small. If you have a good acupuncturist, he will talk you through it and tell you exactly what is happening to your body by putting the needles in those certain areas.Hope this helps.

are you bi-polar, my daughter is. and she compalined for a long time about these pains, and the docs ran all kinds of test couldnt find anything. come to find out it was nerve pain which is all to hard to identify.i have taken them just like you have said. and yes you will be right back in the same boat as you where before. id advise you to talk to a dr and explain it to him. he can prescribe something that isnt as addictive.

the back pain might be your body telling your mind that it hurts .. honest .. go see a doc if something is really hurting and they will do an x-ray .. vic. only subdues pain, it doesnt actually help anything other than that
