Default Could constant headaches be caused by bulging discs in cervical spine? - 12-28-2008, 07:37 PM

I have been having consistant headaches every day for approximately 4-5 years. I have been to just about every doctor possible and ruled everything else out (two general doctors, two allergists, a chiropractor, neurologist, eye doctor) and no one could find out what the problem was. I had an MRI done&found that I have bad bulging discs from my C2 to my C6. My pain management doctor gave me shots (I think they are nerve blocks) in the muscles at the top of my neck and this did nothing really, I still have the headaches. I take Skelaxin&Ultram daily&this makes them slightly more manageable so that I can work however weekends are horrible no matter what I do. Is it possible that these discs are causing the propblem? I've found little information online with regards to cervical spine&headaches. My doc is recommending epidural injections and I am leary that these will help. I am at my wits end and am tired of constantly hurting. Thanks in advance for you thoughts.

my dog had surgery a year ago, for removing a herniated disc.why the Dr not telling you a bout shaving down the bulging discs, i don't understand.you suffered enough, maybe surgery is the last thing on the list.

Actually the pain from ruptured or bulging discs always occurs below the level of the rupture because the portion of the nerve above the rupture is not harmed. So the headaches must be from a different cause.
