Where the steroids issue is concerned, so far Bonds and Sosa have not been found guilty --- yet. McGwire either admitted or was caught or both, and then pleads the fifth amendment in the first hearing back in'04.McGwire will not get in on the first ballot, but may four or five years down the road if the voters forgive him for his transgressions. If Bonds and Sosa are found guilty, it will come down to whether or not McGwire gets admitted. If McGwire gets in and Bonds and Sosa don't, then you're opening up the"racial"can of worms. As much as I love Pete Rose and admire his hitting record(s), he was banned because he was guilty of gambling, just like all of the White Sox players from 1919 (Black Sox). If Rose is reinstated and allowed in the hall, then you have to open up the Hall to the any of the eight"Black Sox"players that were good enough to be inducted. For me, when it comes to both gambling and steroids, there is no way you can justify the allowance of either in any amateur or pro sport.
