All I want to do is sleep all the time. I'm constantly tired even when I wake up. It's really interfering with my life and my job. Every day is a struggle to accomplish anything. I have been like this for the last 3 years but the doctors say there is nothing physically wrong with me. My psychiatrist put me on antidepressants which made it worse. I was thinking about asking to try a very low dose of extended release ritalin- like maybe 5 mg to see if would help without causing my anxiety to worsen. I am nervous about asking my doctors about this because I think they'll say no because it has such a bad addiction reputation. Is there a way I should go about asking for it to make them less judgemental and more likely to prescribe it? Has anyone tried this for constant fatigue and had good results? BTW, 10 years ago I was diagnosed with non hyper ADD. Should I mention this to the docs to improve my chances of them cooperating. They really intimidate me if you can't tell...Thanks
Low-dose ritalin is not the best choice. It is too short-acting, and not indicated for fatique. You may want to discuss Provigil, which is indicated for fatique, is once-daily and not nearly as addictive.
