I asked if I could take ritalin with alcohol on this board. I got VERY strong , but wrong, answers that ritalin does interact with alcohol. It does not. According to the manufacturer:Methylphenidate may impair physical coordination and cause dizziness or drowsiness.5 Alcohol may intensify these effects, increasing the risk of accidental injury. To prevent problems, people taking methylphenidate should avoid alcohol. So you may trip, big deal.
Go ahead, I have two sons that do whatever they think would be fun too. They have both spent most of thier lives locked up and they are both addicts. So have right at it!
No no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no you seem to have answered your own question. Alcohol causes similar effects that the ritalin does, so why take the chance. Big deal if you trip??? What are you going to trip in front of, a massive truck? I wouldn't like that to happen to me, either would your family.
I take ritalin and lexapro (antidepressant), and have had a drink while on both of them. I can only have one drink, because ritalin intensifies effects of alcohol; I get really sleepy and pass-out immediately. If I don't immediately fall asleep, I get really crazy and depressed and think about doing stuff that any person with half a brain would know not to do. Why would you want to drink alcohol and take ritalin anyways? if you really want to try it; go ahead. No message on this board is going to stop you.
