hi guys, uk q here. What do you think causes add/adhd. I was just reading an old entry where a lady was not the natural birth mother, both sons was adhd but had addicted birth mothers. This is certainly not in my case! Whats your opinion on the knowledge you have heard. Thanks usaI understand everyone has there opinion but i cant help feeling you dont know what its like to deal with a child with adhd. Its not enviroment in my case and have tried behaviour modification to the limit! None work and believe me i dont want my child on this s**t either! Some people that think it does not exist need to come to my house and watch and my son has a moderate level.Its not the difficulty of putting up with it, one of the condition is that they dont think before acting and sometimes this can result into dangerous situations for other people involved!PAULY - what would you advise in your opinion is better other than the'rit'PAULY - what would you advise in your opinion is better other than the'rit'

ADD ADHD is over diagnosed usually caused by teachers that are overloaded and have too many students. They like to have kids on Ritalin because zombies are easier to teach than children. ADD ADHD can be cured by dietary changes and environmental changes. Much better than putting your child on a drug that is horrible.

I had A.D.D/A.D.H.D as a child, and I drove a teacher nuts. IT was her first year teaching, and she always on my mother's nerves. I do not recommend that Riralin medication. IT is a terreible drug, and it is also on the list of Worst Drugs. Use another alternative for the disorder your kids have.

There are numerous reasons, but now-a-days so many people that don't really have adhd or add are just lazy. I feel sorry for those who do have it b/c it sounds like a very hard thing to deal with, but mostly a bunch of lazy kids now-a-days have been saying they have it when they don't. I hope they get sick from taking the meds they don't need.

I agree with the first persons statement. ADD and ADHD are actually very rare, but teachers, parents, and other people don't want to deal with a child's problem they only want to drug them. How sad! No wonder there are so many drug addicts in this world. These kids are taught that you take a pill to feel betterPlease try love and behavior modification.

ADD/ ADHD is not rare, and its not diagnosed by teachers. Ritalin, Adderall, Dexadrine are all very stimulants so they believe it or not you have to have a doctor to prescribe them. Doctors don't just hand out prescriptions either, you have to actually be tested over the course of a months.There are a lot of Conditions that we didn't know about twenty years ago (Dysleixa, autism), for some reason ADD/ADHD has become the one we choose to not believe in.the causes are not yet known, but people who have ADD/ADHD and people who don't give into the conspiracy theories tend to think that it is genetic. Some fanatics say that its cause by a poor diet, but I know kids who were raised vegetarian with very little sugar who has ADD. I have even meet a kids who's parents wouldn't let him eat over processed foods like hot dogs and candy cause they thought it was causing his ADHD, but that kids was still bouncing off the walls.My personal belief is that it is genetic, I have five cousins and two uncles who all have it, and we think grandma does too.I take medicane for school and work but when I am home I try to take a break. I also had to try a few medicanes to find the one that works best, a few made me moody and gave me weird side effects, it all depends on the person. Schedule is the big part to have a constant schedule that doesn't change a lot, cause then you know when things are going to happen and you can somewhat prepar in your mind that your going to need to be trying to pay attention harder at certain times.
