All I have to take right now is a percocet, and when I have taken it before, two different occasions, once I got a horrible stomach ache, I was screaming in pain, had to throw up..etc. I didn't eat anything with it, the other time, same problems, but I'm pretty sure I ate. What can I do to take it without getting sick? Sometimes vicodin will nauseate me, so am I just a lightweight? lol (&I'm not a taking them to get high or anything like that, just hurting. so I won't snort them, out of the question)I'm asking on here because so many people answer questions due to personal experiences, the doctor will just tell me what the rx says. Take the pills on a full stomach, try not to move around too much, and take Emetrol, an OTC nausea medicine.

Both oxycodone (opioid narcotic ingredient in percocet) and hydrocodone (opioid narcotic ingredient in vicodin) carry with them nausea as a common side-effect. It can be caused by two different main reasons however. One reason could be that the medication's central nervous system interaction can trigger the part of your brain that causes nausea and triggers vomiting and such. However the other reason is the medications interaction in your digestive system. Judging by the pain in your stomach I would guess your problem is a result of the second reason.If the second reason is the problem and if eating with the medication does not seem to resolve your problem I would recommend telling your doctor as there are other medications that can possibly be prescribed that will not cause you these side-effects.I wish you luck and I hope you are feeling better soon.

Eat something with bread, like toast or a sandwich, and drink some milk it will help coat you stomach. Eat the percocet in the middle of eating and you should be fine. Although some can't ever take narcotic pain meds.
