A week is not long enough to get physically addicted. Your mother should not be the one to decide how much pain relief you need, that is your doctor's decision. If you are having trouble you should call your doctor and tell him about your situation. He may talk to your mother and explain she is not a doctor and that you are having pain and have a legal right to pain relief.Edit: I guess I should answer your initial question. I have been on pain killers for over a year now because of chronic head pain. I am physically addicted to them. When I do not take them within 12 hours I begin to get these symptoms of withdrawl: creepy-crawlies under my skin, anxiety, pain, heart palpitations, sweating even though I feel cool (clamminess). Percocet is a minor pain killer and it will take you a long time of consistent use (probably at least 6 weeks) to become physically addicted.
