Default How do I detox a opaite abuser at home? - 12-20-2008, 10:56 PM

I know a girl who has been snorting oxycontin, cocaine, heroin... what ever she can get her hands on. She's been detoxed 3 times, in rehab twice and now she is a friggin mess again. Are there over the counter products , drinks , food , etc... that she can take to help with the withdraw symtoms? I don't think her parents are going to put her back in detox because they are so mad. Thanks for any suggestions and say no to drugs.

I know you mean well, but I don't think you are going to be able to do it.

You can't.Don't try. You will fail. You will fail HER.She needs professional help.Take her to your local emergency room and they will steer you in the right direction.

She won't quit unless she wants to. Give emotional support as long as you can handle it but an addict has to decide to stop, you can't do it for her. Sometimes the drugs win, sorry.

YOU DON'T!!!!!! Detox is not something that you want to do at home, especially when you are dealing with the above named substances. There can be life threatening complications during detox. That is why it is medically supervised. Please reconsider your plan.

dude, your girl is pretty much an addict. it takes someone hitting rock bottom before they give up the life of drugs, I hope she doesn't die, but that is rock bottom for some ppl. we all control our own destiny and just knowing there is someone out there who cares helps some ppl. good luck getting her to clean up and may she make it through it. your a good guy.

You don't, it is much too dangerous. You need to take them to an inpatient substance abuse facility so they can monitor and treat withdrawal symptoms.

take her to the ER.have her see crisis counseloers there or affiliatated w/ that ER.be honest and they'll know what help is available to her that she needs.somewhere they will know she'll get the help she needs.just don't try to detox her at home.it'll be hell for anyone involved.now get her to the ER.they will do what is needed.good luck.

It is way too dangerous for you to try to detox her at"home". Detox involves some serious monitoring by health care professionals. Please don't try it....you could end up liable if something happens to her.

sorry have you heard that saying you have to be cruel to be kind? tie her down to the bed, you'd have to go through the lot with her, feed her clean her, listen to every thing and it wont be pleasant and if you are successfully then get her away from the people she's knocking about with they'll only bring her down again
