Default What should I do with a drug-addicted roommate? - 01-12-2009, 03:50 PM

I just found out that one of my roommates, who totally lost it and blew up on me yesterday for talking in my room, has a heroin addiction problem. I found out about this by accident through my other roommate, who discovered his container of withdrawal medication (also another addictive opiate, but milder). At first I thought he was bi-polar or something along those lines because of his massive mood swings and his over sensitivity to noise, but now it all made sense why he acts so violent sometimes. I also recently found out that he was kicked out of his last apartment. He always gives me an attitude and threatens me when he's having a bad day, but can act normal on good days. What do you think I should do in this situation? I don't know if kicking him out is a good idea, since I don't know how he'll react judging by how violent he can be sometimes. I can't move so that's out of the question.

Kick his teeth in, then he'll know who's boss.

If he is in the process of quitting, he needs your support and understanding. Otherwise, warn him and at the last resort, kick him out.

I would definitely kick him out cause you could get hurt. He needs to get out and realize that he has a problem on his own. It shouldn't become your problem too and if it keeps on like this it probably will. If you need help getting him out call the authorities. There is no shame in protecting yourself.
