INTENSE low back/abdominal pain, already on great meds, what now?

Default INTENSE low back/abdominal pain, already on great meds, what now? - 01-16-2009, 11:41 AM

have a couple of medical problems causing this... yes my doctors know... i'm on great meds (fentanyl, dilaudid)... don't like morphine... but problems are getting worse and i'm building tolerance, is there anything i can do for relief from home...pain from pancreatic cancer and kidney stonesthanks

try lifting weights. and make sure to lift with your back and take your knees completely out of the equation. after a few weeks of that you wont need those pain meds anymore

At this point it sounds like you're leaving the medically capable problems to the docs....be sure you let your nurse and MD know that you're not being relieved of your symptoms. I have also had a lot of patients tell me that at home therapeutic relief offers tons of comfort. Massage therapy, yoga and other relaxation techniques were top on their lists. You could also check your area for cancer support groups and often times group members can lend you insight to their methods for pain relief and different emotional therapy as well. The best of luck you and may god grant you relief as well as the best of care.
