Because today at the hospital they gave me a shot of it in my IV for pain this was at 10 am. It is now 10 pm and I feel like crap!! and my kidneys kind of hurt but I think its from the morphine???? I just ready for it all to be out of my system I dont like that way it made me feel. This was the first time I ever had it and I never want to have it again!! So does anyone know how long until its all gone and I feel normal again?

One shot at 10 am. I don't know your time zone, but as a nurse and a patient who has received morphine, it usually takes about 12 hours to 24 hours to feel back like yourself. And morphine will not make your kidneys hurt-- so if they do, you need to look for another cause.

According to the link below the'half-life'for young adults is about 2 hours and a bit longer for older folks.You may be having an allergic reaction. Consider contacting your doctor about this as soon as you can.

It stays a couple hours. And I feel like it's a pretty steep spike downward.

I know codeine can take upwards of 8-12 hours to get out of the system. morphine is much stronger so it may take longer. Let the meds do it's work. If you are unsure of what the side effects are call your doctor or the hospital to explain them to you and tell them about your kidney pain so they can determine the best thing to do to get you healthy again.
