methadone clinics, in my humble opinion, are simply trading one addiction for another.one is not clean and sober until they are exactly that... clean and sober.your husband traded one pain pill for another. only this time he gets it"legally".i ran around with this girl. we were best friends. we are both addicts. (opiate/pain pill addicts) i got arrested for passing a forged script one day. i went into rehab and got clean. she decided to go the methadone clinic route. she is not clean, she hangs out with heroin addicts (she has spiraled downward as we had not yet crossed that line when we were hanging out). she abuses the methadone and other forms of pain pills, still.i am against methadone clinics.the best thing your husband can do is go to detox and experience the wd's (yeah, they are hell. but, how is he ever going to get better?) and then transfer to rehab and learn the tools to stay clean.no. you are not overreacting. your husband is still on a pain pill that is most likely getting him high. where there is a will there is a way.
