Should someone with a bipolar mother avoid using LSD (acid)? -

Hi, I have a friend who has taken acid twice now, without any complications or problems arising from either trip. They'd like to take it again, but it recently came to my attention that their mother is bipolar. With the extrapolated use of the term, I'm not sure how clinical the case is, but my friend assures me the mother has bipolar disorder.I know that people who are latently schizophrenic may have their conditions triggered by an acid trip, and that anyone who has relatives with that disorder should avoid hallucinogens out of being careful. I'm also certain that someone who directly has bipolar disorder shouldn't mess around with mind-altering substances at all. However, considering the previous two times which went great (though perhaps we were just extremely fortunate), and the indirect and relative geniality of the disorder, I'm curious as to what you all think?
