The emergancy room sent me to there clinic bacuse i don't have a GP. Now today i called for my refill for 30 percs wich are 5/500 and still aren't strong enough the pain is sooo bad sometimes that i almost cry, and the doctor said that she has already given me 2 much... I felt that the care i was given wasen't up to par so my mother told me to go to a local urgant care. Now the doctor there was awsome and treated me like and actual pacient she gave me a refual to a foot doctor beacuse she thinks there is nerve damage and so do i. The problem is that she can only give me the loratab that didn't work..... This is horrible i can't function i am in so much pain and it won't go away........ I want to see a PM doctor but my mother who goes to one to, said to wait till i see the foot doctor. Dose any one have any advise for me...I think the doctor thinks i am a junkie is 120 percocet in 17 days too much... No one will listen or under stand the pain im in they think hey hes 22years old he dosen't really need them. My mother understands beacuse she has been disabled for 17 years and she knows what im going threw beacuse she went threw the same kinda stuff im stuck and i feel like im in a dark whole with no out............I'm taking 800mgs and don't need ice anymore im told heat is what they told me to do dont forget this happend 18days ago.....
Nerve pain doesn't respond well to narcotics. You'd be better off with something like Lyrica. Call the Urgent Care doctor you saw and ask them to call it in for you. Start on 50mgs twice a day. Then after a week, 75mgs. twice a day. You have to build up slowly. That works much better on nerve pain than opiates.
I'm a physician, so I'll give you some of the same advice as I give my patients. In general all narcotic pain killers are the same, although some patients react somewhat differently to diferent kinds of narcotics (oxycodone vs hydrocodone vs propoxyphene etc). They all hit the same receptors and the oral narcotics have similar potencies with some notable exceptions. You can't see a pain management doctor for this condition, as they only treat CHRONIC pain and yours is an acute injury. One thing that hasnt been done for you is to give you a complete array of pain management. Most acute injuries respond well to antiinflammatories like motrin or alleve. so go get some generic ibuprofen and take 800mgs every eight hours (thats 4 of the 200 mg OTC tabs every eight hours) better to take with food. Then you can ADD the narcotic painkillers to that. They also have TYLENOL in them so dont take anymore OTC tylenol (acetominophen) if they do.Also use ice, its a very effective pain reliever. ice the are down for 5 min out of every 20 min.Remember narcotics have a lot of problems asociated with them, besides the obvious impairment like drowsiness, they can cause constipation, nausea, depression and they lose their effect fairly quickly so you have to use a greater and greater dose to get the same response. This is why physicians limit what we prescribe. Good luck I hope you get better
You really need to do something more then just sit around and take meds- and you can not just'call in a refill for Lortab or Percocet"you need a hand written RX.Get your foot in a bath and swirl it around and TRY and wiggle it a bit- I think the pain you are feeling is because it is getting stiff! THAT CAN REBOUND ANY INJURY. BETTER YET, GET WITH A FRIEND AND GO SWIMMING! THAT WOULD BE THE BEST THING FOR YOU. You are 1/3 your weight in the pool and everything moves easier in water! HONESTI own a Health spa and have physical therapy patients in the POOL - every day!Take what you are given and nothing more- YOU did have alot of Percocet for just injuring yourself and not being on the narcotics.PLEASE...GO TO THE FOOT DOCTOR- DID THEY EVEN BOTHER TO X-RAY? YOU ONLY SAID INJURE?Do you have an ace bandage or an aircast on it.. or a light shoeWhen you are off of it- elevate it! BUT remember to CONTINUE to MOVE -ok.BECAUSE i DO NOT KNOW WHAT YOU DID - I AM HESITANT TO TELL YOU ANYTHING MORE TO DO. BUT at the ER they would have done something more if they found something terribly wrong. Then they could be wrong..Seriously,-ok GO TO A POOL OR HOT TUB - move it a little(if u dont use it -it stiffens and pain increases!!!)good luck AND LET US KNOW HOW U ARE DOINGI BET THE DOCTOR SEND U FOR SOME PHYSICAL THERAPY!!!! HOPE SO!1. Soak the foot and try and wiggle a little and put some pressure on it.2. GO to the DR -3. Wrap it loosely...4. Take only what is prescribed ( you can take more tylenol- go ahead) Dont take extra of the Lortab though--
