My aunts mom-in-law that lives with her used to abuse perscription drugs. She says she is clean but we have reason to believe she is taking loratab. What are some physical signs we can look for so we know for sure?

Drug abusers and alcoholics often have unusual temper outbreaks, withdraw from responsibility and have other general changes in overall attitude.Deterioration of physical appearance and groomingWearing of sunglasses at inappropriate timesContinual wearing of long-sleeved garments, particularly in hot weather; or a reluctance to wear short-sleeved clothing when appropriate.Unusual borrowing of money from friends, co-workers or parentsStealing small items from employer, home or schoolSecretive behaviour regarding actions and possessionsPoorly concealed attempts to avoid attention and suspicion, such as frequent trips to storage rooms, restroom, basement or other locations.

Your aunt has to tell her, to live in that house, she will have to take periodic drug tests. Your aunt can buy them at the drug store. Don't tell her when, just tell your aunt to hand her a cup. And don't let her say,"I can't go now I'll do it later."No. If she isn't using, she won't give your aunt a hard time. If she is, she will have a fit. Tell her if she doesn't want to take the urine test, then she has to move out.Don't assume or wonder, get proof with a test. If your uncle doesn't want his mother treated like that, too bad.

Change in behavior...either very hyper (which is the way most loratab addicts react) or excessive sleepiniess. If she's a true addict she would have to take a lot of them to show any physical signs. She's learned the game and knows how to hide it. The only true way is a urine test. They have home testing kits that you can buy.
