For about 7 years I have been on so many meds, recently i got hooked back on xanax i was taking (suppose to) 2 mg a day 1 mg in am 1 mg pm. 30 day supply's would last me a week. I flushed everything, 3 days ago, im panicing like CRAZY, i think its because i feel"normal"but its almost like feeling, that normal isnt normal for me, its the other way around. Its that normal??? I talked to someoen today who told me about celexa (sp?) I was taking it for a week till i talked to him, i party hard (drinking) and he told me johnny you have to get off meds you wont stop drinking (even if its only once a week) it will end up killing me cause i would be messing with my brain in a serious way. no more meds....it sounds like a really good idea to me....Meds only cover up the problem at hand when its due to mental right? so if i deciede to quit taking meds in 20 years from now cause of a panic disorder, its going to come back then...so why not learn how to face it now?

you should really talk to your doctor, you know the one who went to years of school. not saying your friend isnt a good person, but you should really ask your doctor before quiting any meds. you just cant quite taking some meds, you should be weined off them. seriously please call your doctor and tell him/her whats going on. AND YOU SHOULD NOT BE DRINKING WITH THESE MEDS

Meds don't mask the diseases, they help correct an imbalance. It is not a weakness to need medication.Xanax is a terrible benzodiazepine. It works quickly, which is great for panic attacks, but then it drops off just as quickly resulting in rebound anxiety. This cycle can lead to abuse.I've had better results with clonazepam (Klonopin). It lasts longer and is much more smooth.The alcohol does more harm to your brain than Celexa will ever do. Celexa is well-known for its efficacy in treating anxiety.
