Default Ketamine for chronic pain? - 12-26-2008, 01:59 AM

Wanting to know about experiences / comments / side effects experienced by chronic pain patients taking ketamine. I've been told that the low doses prescribed will avoid the unwanted psycholgical side effects. Interested in any known impact on the gastro / constipation etc? Been told to take 700-1000mg of magnesium will enhance its pain relieving effects. It has been prescribed along with mscontin. Why might that be? Professional imput - great?!

Well, I havent taken ketamine for chronic pain, actually my experience with ketamine was for an experimental study for its effects on depression, but I can speak to some of its effects.First off, even a low dose may give those psychological side effects, but they are only temporary, and are really nothing to worry about. Since its side effects are mainly psychedelic, as long as you think good thoughts, it won't be a bad experience, and they only usually last like an hour or so. I didn't really experience any other effects, other than the psychadelics, but it can vary from person to person. Like I said, the most important thing with any psychadelic is to not worry and think happy, since you are very suggestable with them,As for the ms contin, thats also for pain, its the oral, time released tablet form of morphine.

There is no medicine for H/A OR MIGRAINE. Not only these but for almost all painful diseases. Hence they become chronic.Acidity, WORRY, excessive wind, cold , heat, sour food and sinusitis, constipation, intestinal inflammation;Blockage in the flow of Vital Energy are their causes. None of them can be treated with medicine. Our 100% success in treating migraine&H/A confirms it.Acupuncture is the best treatment.I treat it with naturopathy and YOG, but how can you manage pl see.Drugs will make the liver hyperactive and increase problems, avoid them.Avoid late sleeping if possible;spicy, sour, stale bakery foods and alcohole.COCOANUT WATER,citrus fruits (if cidity is not there), milk, green veges, SPROUTS, SALADS and good sleep will help you.Source(s):SHREE SWASTHYAYOG TREATMENT, TRAINING&RESEARCH INSTITUTER.H. 19, Jhulelal Society, Sector 2/E, Airoli, Navi Mumbai, INDIA.
