my sister and brother in law are both addicted to hydrocodone . they say it gives them a boost of energy,the question i have is how can a drug like this give u a boost of energy? and what does it do to your heart to give u this boost.is it like a form of speed? my doctor offered to give me a few for my pain in my knees and back but i also have high blood pressure so im worried about taking them

Wow! That Vicodin is becoming pretty popular... Anyway, I think it gives u a little happiness&sometimes energy, but it only lasts for about 15 min. to a 1/2 hr. So then U got to pop a couple more. I know it makes u constipated. but i would ask a dr. beings you have high blood pressure, before you take it. Or just try 1/2 a pill. VERY ADDICTING though... good luck!

Hydrocodone ,is an opiate,narcotic. I am actually on them right now for pain,need hysterectomy (pre-existing)have to wait'till july!! DR. helping me w/ pain'till then.It doe's get me wired!some people react differently to it ,I know friend's who have taken it&it made them tired! also,I have high blood pressure,on Med's,but, does'nt react like speed,per say,but, your brother in law&sister,seem to be addicted,which,easily happen's when on a long time,you have to taper down off them. Take them if you hurt,believe me,if you don't abuse them,they help alot! Good luck to you&family

I don't know about a"burst of energy"however I can tell you from my own experience that you will feel better than you did before the medication, and that you will feel like doing things. But I do not think that you actually get any"energy"from this medication, you just feel better and can move without nagging pains, so you do move around a little more. I do not think you would have a problem with these raising your BP, but see your doctor.

it does not give you a burst of energy...they are doing something else too....it is a good pain killer and it is safe to take with HBP...when I had surgery that's what they gave me and I also have HBP which is controlled with medication....
