Hi there

I would like to carry out research on the gender differences in food addiction for a research project as part of a university assignment, and was wondering whether it would be okay to use your forum in order to gather data. I am extremely interested in this topic, and specifically would like to find out about the different experiences which males and females go through in coping/dealing with their addiction. Food addiction is also not widely researched, and it is also generally not thought of as an addiction, which is why i would like to investigate it.

I also realise that food addiction is generally thought of as a 'women's problem' , which is why i thought that it would be interesting to see if men experience it differently to women. I also wonder if it would be feasable, and whether if there would be males who also post on the group, to be able to gain insight in both the female and male experience.

My research would involve analysing people's postings on the forum, as well as posting a survey for members of the group to answer if they wish. Members would ensure all data would be ensured of confidentuality, and can also let me know if they do not wish their posts to be analysed.

Please let me know if it is okay for me to use your forum for my research.
