Default How much do dilaudid(oral form) cost? - 02-04-2009, 08:09 PM

How much would say a 30 count of low dose Dilaudid cost? I'm using vicodin atm and its dirt cheap(for migranes) I've been through the list of triptines and anti-inflamitories, and they don't work. Id rather be addicted to something rather than live with horrid pain, all day and almost everyday. At this point I think they are cluster headaches, and just straight up pain, i.e I should be put on heavy pain killers.Edit: In past ER vists they give me Dilauidid/Benadryl/compazene/Toradoll through a IV and it worked very fast, and my doctor prescribed me vicodin 10 months ago.Edit: Vicodin and Dilaudid are given for moderate to severe pain, of anykind. It dosent apply to just those you listed. Pain is pain no matter where it is. I didnt give a excuse to the ER doctors, when I go in I'm vomitting everywhere, and it's easy to see I'm in chronic pain.Edit: I'm on a preventitive called notriptalin probably spelled it wrong. I have no clue what's causing them, I've been through 17 other abortive meds, and Narcotics are unfortuanly the only thing that has a effect. I've had Cat scans, and MRI's. All came back clear. I also had blood work, and it was clear, thank god its not from something like a brain tumor.

Drs don't give vicodin or dilaudid for migraines. They would give you something like imitrex or another migraine med.Well, whatever excuse you gave when you went to er for a migraine, they did overkill on the pain meds. The ONLY dilaudid I ever was prescribed was for BRAIN surgery. They will NOT give it to you for a headache. I've never known any knowledgeable dr to give vicodin for anything other than joint, muscle or bone pain.My daughter used to be a migraine sufferer with vomiting included and my sister has been a chronic sufferer for many years. Never once have they been given that type of medication. Years ago I was prescribed midrin to take if I felt a migraine coming on. Once it hits, it's too late for midrin to work. I hated dilaudid, made me feel terrible...not as bad as the open wound to my brain though.Nortriptyline is used for mental conditions, such as depression and bipolar. It also takes 2 - 3 weeks to take affect. Some conditions may become worse when the drug is abruptly stopped. Muscle aches, headaches, and worsening anxiety may also occur. Be careful with that one. Maybe doc thinks your headaches are all in your head and an antidepressant makes you"feel"better.

Your pharmacy will be able to tell you how much they charge. I dont have it in front of me, but check WalMart's 4$ list and the other pharmacies that have programs like that.Do you know whats causing your headaches? Do you keep a headache journal tracking your headaches in comparison to your diet and activities? At this point, I would think prevention would be the best thing to do, and if you can figure out whats causing the headaches, you might be able to prevent it. I assume you have also had scans, correct? If not, schedule them, because there could be something more going on.And actually, that cocktail is fairly common place for er migraine visits. I dont think I have ever had the toradoll, and I cant stand the dilaudid, so they actually do morphine/benedryal/compazine for me. I also use midrin which can be used for tension or migraines (you take it differently depending on which kind of headache) and I have narrowed down my triggers. If you are having nausea, you could also try phenegran with the headache.
