Why don't pain killers work on migraine headaches? -

Imitrex almost always stops my headaches, but $125. for 6 pills.Why doesn't tylenol 3 s, demerol, etc work.42 married mother of 4not sure why it mattersHeadache was yesterday and it was a bad one. And I was out of my meds. Just have the migraine hang-over today.
I use ibuprofen (Motrin) and it works well. Works even better if I take it with caffiene, and also staying hydrated keeps me from having as many. Good luck!
You tell me and then we'll both know. I have been trying to find out the answer to that question for years. And Demerol and codiene works enough in that they make you not care you are in pain. Nice little vacation from the headache.
