I have a nasty case of influenza, so my doctor prescribed me cough syrup with codeine in it, so my nights will be a little more restful.I have found, however, that I am waking up several times a night and then immediately falling back asleep. I have also noticed that I am dreaming a lot more when I am using the cough syrup.It undoubtly makes me very drowsy and I have no problem falling asleep or BACK asleep after I wake up...I just thought that I wouldn't be waking up as much as I am.Any insight is appreciated! Thanks!!!!

Codeine is a narcodic and will give most people restless sleep, and dreams? same thing. I hate the stuff.

are you taking the recommened dose?Maybe you should call your doctor.That stuff knocks me out like a light and I dont wake up at all untill morning.If you have been taking it for a while your body could of have a built up tolerance to the drug
