It is an opiate. You should not be taking it for that long!

Any drug is addictive. Painkillers are very additive if you over use them but you have to take above the recommend dosage for a prolonged period of time to become dependant.Check the package and stick to the guidelines.

codeine is addictive, you should not still be in pain, go back to the doctors or dentist.I started to get a taste for codeine after an operation I was on it for a couple of months and I started taking it if I was bored and wanted to feel spaced out. When I realised what I was doing I stopped straight away.

Shouldn't be addictive if you take your doses exactly as prescribed by your doctor and don't abuse it. I, however, personally hate codeine because it gives me nosebleeds.

It states on the box that codeine, if taken for a long time, can become addictive. It`s purpose is to relieve pain, NOT to give you a kick.I am not a doctor but I think that 2months pain for a tooth extraction is rather excessive Suggest that you see your doctor or dentist without delay
