psh...go cold turkey. that's not even a full agonist on your opiate receptors.

You need outside help to kick this. You have taken the first step and you are trying, but it is just too hard to do alone. Please go to a support group!

You have to throw them away. There's no other way. Tempting yourself with 24 pills that are just sitting there, is torture and you will give in eventually. Please just flush them down the toilet then you can actually make some headway in getting better. Believe me, I was addicted to percocets and I didn't wean myself off of them until they were no where in sight. Although I cried for days about flushing them down the toilet (it was probably the lowest point in my life) I didn't have to look at them so quitting was that much easier. Also, try to get support from people that you love or you can even go to a support group. I have found that outside support is extremely helpful and motivating. You can do this, just flush those pills please.

firstly, you have accepted you have a problem so that's hurdle number one done.. well done!the next thing i think would be to see your gp because they may be able to refer you to drugs councellors etc and help devise a plan to help you. They aren't going to tell you to go cold turkey if you are on high doses every day because opiate addiction is notoriously hard to beat and it is going to take you a long time to crack it. Also, confide in your friends- theres no shame in it and you will need all the support you can get. Perhaps getting out with your friends more might help the cravings a little rather than staying in and looking at that box!For now, perhaps try reducing your dose by just a little each day or try going a little longer each day in between taking them. Weaning slowly will reduce the withdrawal symptoms but not stop them completely but ultimately you can't do this alone. Call your gp on monday. Good luck
