i appreciate every ones kind words, i just am struggling, I started using 2 years ago and haven't stopped, I am a teacher and in law school, and i just wish i could be satisfied with life like I was before drugs!
You just have to remember that you are not the only one suffering from this right now. Keep your mind busy, call a friend that is sober, or watch a movie. Just keep clean, good luck!
I didn't ever use cocaine but I know you can do this.
Other people have overcome and so can you.
It will be hard for a while and you really need to get some help.
Whatever you are doing to quit, please do this as well.
Read the new testament, the words you get there will help you.
Especially read the Gospels, Mathew, Mark, Luke and John.
I can't tell you how, but these words will come alive for you.
I will be praying for you.
I gave up Amphetamines after 2 years of very regular use. It wasn't easy and it will be like that for a long time .I also realize that Speed is just poor man's Cocaine but it has similar properties (stimulants) and just as sinister and no different i feel.. But I buttoned down and started to use less frequently everyday use went down to 2 days per week after about 6 months Iowas down to once a week then every fortnight and then it was monthly and of course i had a slight slip and used a couple of weekends in a row I then got back on track and didn't use for a couple of months and then it was six months before i used again and now it's close to a year. I hope i never use again.
I abused it but was smart enough (for once!) not to develop an addiction. See section 52, about drugs, at http://www.ezy-build.net.nz/~shaneris for some tips, and support & recovery sites. You have permitted the pleasure pathways of your brain to be reprogrammed, and this takes some time to recover from. Medications can sometimes help you through the worst of it.
Hun,I've never used drugs but i can offer some words of encouragement.
Have you ever seen the show"Intervention"? It's basically a show that gets people off drugs, and back to a normal, happy, healthy life style.
These people were so badly beaten down by drugs, and yet they made it out alive and happy..without them.
There is a light at the end,I assure you.I can't imagine what you are going through, but I do know that if you want this bad enough, and if you try your hardest, you will be able to get your life back on track.
If you ha vent went to rehab,I'd suggest going. It will benefit you greatly.
I have never used drugs but I have known friends, lost classmates, seen how it affects families and there is always hope. Here is a link that may help you to know there is always a place for you here.
Drugs and Death don't have to go hand in hand. Hope this helps you.
To break a habit you need to change everything that you do around that habit. Like smokers who smoke while drinking coffee should give up coffee too.
I haven't actually been addicted to coke because I couldn't get my hands on it, otherwise I would have been. But every night I would dream about it for about six months after my last use and every time I thought about it my nose would ache for it.
When you start thinking about coke, try to focus your mind on something else. Keep busy to distract yourself. Remove yourself from people you know who use and situations in which you can get it. Ask for help from friends.
Try doing things that make you feel good without the drugs. Without sounding wank, climb a mountain, watch the sunrise/set, spend time with the people you love.
You might even consider a whole change of lifestyle. Move to a different city and change jobs. You won't have the connections to get the coke, you will be busy making a new life for yourself and it will be a fresh start. Don't feel like you have to stay where you are doing what you are doing. Sure it is scary to make big changes but you only live once.
I have an addictive personality, so I try to limit my drug use. I only allow myself drugs every two months or so. Then I have a massive, massive night and don't do any for a couple months. I stick to pills and speed. But I can't imagine life without drugs.
Good luck, and I think the best advice I can give is to ask for help from friends and family.
