If your psychiatrist will not prescribe you the drugs, there is probably a good reason for this. Probably because they feel they might hinder your recovery in the long term.Unfortunately, drugs are only a short term solution to an underlying problem.Perhaps they could give you something which helps a little, but is not so addictive. For example I take Citalapram for my anxiety and although I am still extremely anxious some of the time, I can see the effect.I hope this is of some help.
