isnt it for depressanion?he wants me to take off ativan which i love..hes afraid i get addicted...either way i would be taking them for a years.whats the difference?

Glad to hear that your DR is taking you off Ativan, it can be very addicting.You need to learn how to deal with your feelings other ways than taking a pill. Lexapro is used for depression and anxiety. THis medication can take 30 days to become fully effective, give it some time.

Lexapro is an anti depressant! I took them before but it honestly doesn't do much good.
