I started drinking Tequilla in December 2009 and I drank at least 4-5 times every day, then a month ago I had to quit abruptly. I bought some weed and that seemed to prevent any withdrawal. A week later, when I got my check, I went out and bought some tequila and up until tonight I was drinking a 1 liter of tequila a day.

I've had to stop again because I'm out of money again(I suffer from agoraphobia and anxiety attacks and have to survive off an SSI check). I had my last drink just a few hours ago and I'm started to get very restless and nervous. I feel Little suicidal too, but I have been like that for awhile, but I'm scared it's going to get worse...I'm scared I'm not being to be able to make it through the night....I have enough to deal with......I don't have a family that cares and I don't have any friends...so I'm on my own and that's making it worse...I want to die sometimes.

I need to know how long the withdrawal last?

The best way to detox /quit alcohol is with the help of your doctor who will prescribe VA;ium. What Valium does is it stops you from getting so anxious and stops the chance of going into a fit which can happen. In Australia we have the drug and alcohol team that send nurses to your house to help you home detox and they write a letter to your doctor asking him/her to prescribe Valium and they monitor you and take your blood pressure and council you for a couple of weeks
while you detox. withdrawal symptoms can last 5 to 7 days.

Coming from a recovering alcoholic, I'd say 5-7 days. You have to be tough through all of it though. If anyone asks whats wrong with you, just say you're sick. Probably get the shakes, sweats, be very pissed at everything.

[Reality check]

Substituing any drug for another like marijuana for alcohol is never going to work in fact you jumped out of the pot and into the fire. I have an untried theory that the best way to rid yourself of Anya addiction is to 1) find what problem it is your addiction is covering,
2) Start drinking less and less and less every day, you don't wake up one day and start taking large amounts of alcohol so stop the same way you started slowly.
