Vodka is easy to drink and gets you dunk faster. Thats what I've noticed from my friends and why they want to drink it. I personally think its disgusting and would rather drink beer and not get drunk fast. But I'm also not an alcoholic. They drink almost every day.

Vodka is the most popular hard liquor in The United States. Thre are more social drinkers (non-alcoholics) that drink Vodka over any other type of liquor. Based on that statistic alone, it might be easier to find alcoholics that choose Vodka over Gin. But, I happen to know two alcoholics, that only drink WIne

I'm an alcoholic who attends AA now. I used to bring vodka to class in water bottles and literally would drink that stuff and remain drunk 24/7. The reasons why I personally prefer vodka (not cheap stuff though) are

1. It's very efficient and takes less to get you drunk and also involves less peeing then drinking the same amount of beer to get the same effects.

2. In comparison to many other liquors, good vodka is very smooth.

3. Vodka is easy to make dangerously strong mixed yet delicious drinks with.

4. Vodka is versatile but always has the signature smoothness....Russian vodka is less sweet but has more burn that will keep you warm in winter weather. Fruity cold drinks with Grey goose (a very sweet vodka with a higher level of sugar left unconverted into ethanol) are great for summer barbeque's by the pool.

5. Personally, sobering up with vodka (basically what a hangover is when alcohol starts leaving your system) is less painful than other liquors. Whiskey and bourbon often tear up the stomach and gives you crap when it comes out...Rum is my second fave but it's harder to mix. Vodka goes good with almost anything.
