Default I need rehab for alcoholism, but have no insurance? - 03-14-2009, 11:59 PM

I am 35 and need immediate help with this. I am married, and things are fine, but I feel I will lose everything if I don't get help. I'm not really expecting to get it here, but hope some one can help. I live in central FL.

Contact you local Alcoholics Anonymous (check the Phone book, or church bulletins) someone there can help you, and may be able to direct you to an affordable clinic.

GOOD for you that you are gonna do this now before things get worse. If you are low income with no insurance you may find a place to go for free. You may not be able to get in right away and you may have to call them every day to stay on a waiting list.

I am a recovering heroin addict and had no insurance and had failed at quitting on my own. I just went to the Yellow Pages and started calling places. It took a lot of courage just to make those calls, just like it's taken courage for you to admit your problem and come on here to ask. I found a place that did not cost anything. It was not a fancy spa place but that does not mean the treatment was inferior.

Here is a web site that has a phone number you can call to find a rehab in Florida. Hang in there and make that call!

Go to AA. org. that will get you started. Hope you are still at your computer. First thing in the morning get to a meeting. You will find many there that are just waiting to help you. They have been exactly where you are at, and will not judge you.

In addition to Alcoholics Anonymous, talk with your county mental health center. You can see a therapist there for a reduced rate depending on your income. There are other programs they can refer you to if you qualify for them.
