my dad is 46 and has been a very severe alcoholic since his 20's. is runs in his family. he has gotten so skinny, he looks terrible. he drinks about a 12 pack of beer a day give or take depending on his day. my mom left him a few years back because he chose the alcohol over her and me and my brother. I'm supposed to go see him over the weekends but i dint feel like going over there to watch him slowly kill himself. i am 17 and a senior in high school. i want to send him to a rehab center. i have a job and I'm looking for another job. i know I'm young but i feel like i have to do this to save him. i want to know of really good cheap rehab centers in the north Carolina area. i know it wont be cheap but i want to try my hardest to help him because he is sick. so if someone could help me i would greatly appreciate it. thanks.

next time you see him grab his hands and say that Thar isn't any object or food/or drink that you could every love more then your daddy tell him that even tho your mom has given up on Thar relationship that you still love him and want the best for him say that you love him and you need your daddy with you for as long as possible and when he drinks hes taking away from time that you get to be daddy's girl
ask him to maybe if he would go to a rehab center for a little while and you promise to visit all the time

You can't make him go to rehab. You should see if there is an alcoholic support group for families in your area. Maybe they can help.

Sweetie you sound like you have alto on your plate.Think about your decision your trying to make.Do you honestly think your dad is going to agree to go to a rehab.Your not going to be able to convince him I'm sure.Grew up in a similar house hold.You need to speak with an adult about your worries.And let them handle it.Don't put yourself though this torment.Please ask for help its out their...
